What: Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and Stroke Awareness Education Fair
When: Saturday, May 16th from 1-3 pm
Who: Organized by the UVA Traumatic Brain Injury and Stroke Quality Support Teams
Why: To promote education and awareness regarding TBI and stroke to the public.
Fair participants have been invited from the following groups:
· American Stroke Association
· Charlottesville Albemarle Rescue Squad (CARS)
· Crossroads to Brain Injury Recovery, Inc.
· Medtronics – Monitoring for Atrial Fibrillation
· UVA Nutrition
· The Bridge Line (a merger of the former VA Neurocare Foundation and Building Bridges)
· HealthSouth Rehab
· Charlottesville Area TBI Support Group
· Brain Injury Association of Virginia
· An area Athletic Trainer – “First responders for concussions”
· UVA Stroke Come-Back Club
· Innisfree Village
· PACE (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly)
· UVA Stroke Quality Support Team
· UVA Traumatic Brain Injury Quality Support Team
· UVA Brain Injury and Sports Concussion Clinic (BISCC)

There will also be blood pressure screenings and bike helmets available to fair participants (individuals must be in attendance to receive a helmet). Door prizes will also be available. Come on down and learn about the brain! For more information contact Erica Umback at emu3v@virginia.edu.
