The City of Charlottesville and UVA Community Credit Union present Charlottesville's Grand Illumination on Friday, December 6 at its NEW LOCATION at SPRINT PAVILION with festivities starting at 4:30 pm!

The city's signature holiday tree-lighting celebration is free for all ages to enjoy featuring live music, fun games and activities, kids' crafts, food and beverages, over 20,000 LED bulbs illuminating the holiday tree at City Hall Plaza, and so much more!

New attractions for 2019 include:

• Grand Illumination Countdown at City Hall Plaza

The holiday tree has found a new home at City Hall Plaza next to the Sprint Pavilion!

• Holiday Concert at the Pavilion

Local bands and community choirs will get toes tapping and hearts soaring live from the Pavilion stage!

• Gumdrop Square

Take a ride on Mrs. Claus' Holiday Train, get your face painted, and bounce to the beat in inflatable fun houses!

• Santa's Workshop

Get crafty with materials provided by local businesses and organizations!

• Reindeer Games

Test your skills with fun, interactive games!

• Charlottesville Ale Trail

Try tasty selections of beer and wine from six different Charlottesville Breweries!

• Holiday Market

Over 20 city market vendors will be offering their holiday goodies for sale!

• Toy Lift Raffle

Toylift Charities will be on hand to receive your generous donation in exchange for a raffle ticket and a ride in the famous bucket truck!

• Movie Under the Pavilion

After the tree lighting, join us under the Pavilion for a special free screening of a classic holiday movie!

• Pavilion Projection

Throughout the evening the magical artistry of Doc Jim will transform the Pavilion rooftop into an animated masterpiece!
